Put simply - the manufacturing process.
Black Castor Oil goes through a longer, more rigorous process.
The castor beans are heated, roasted, crushed, and boiled the result is a darker oil due to the high ash content from the roasted beans.

Organic Virgin Castor beans are cold pressed to extract the oil and keep all the  beneficial properties and nutrients in tact. Producing a pure, yellow, viscous oil.
This process does *not* require heat, which can degrade the oil’s properties.
