Our Unrefined Cocoa Butter has a natural chocolate aroma and is suitable for all skin and hair types.

We source our luxuriously, raw, Fair Trade Unrefined Cocoa Butter from the Indigenous farmers/producers of the Brazilian Amazon. Fair trade means that the co-operatives and suppliers making our cocoa butter are paid at a fair rate and are provided with a pension plan, vacation, sick pay, family leave and overtime.

What is it?
It's the most aromatic, chocolatey-delicate, yummylicious butter on the planet. 

How is it made?
After the Cacao Pod has ripened the beans are extracted, sun dried, husk separated from the nib and ground into Cocoa liquor.

The Cocoa liquor contains approx. 53% Cocoa Butter and 47% Cocoa Solids. Cocoa liquor is compressed to obtain Cocoa butter and/or Cocoa solids. (Note: Cocoa liquor contains NO alcohol).

What can I do with it?
Melt it, rub it on your skin and smell delicious, or you can make a nice... 

Whipped Cocoa Butter 
Recipe Level: Easy-Peasy
Time: 30 mins

Equipment Required
Bain-Marie
- Stainless Steel Spoons
- 4 x clean glass jars with lids
- Pyrex Bowl or Pyrex Jug
- Freezer
- Hand blender
- Scales for weighing your ingredients

Ingredients
170g of Raw Unrefined Cocoa Butter
32g of Organic Virgin Coconut Oil or Organic Babassu Oil
1g of Vitamin E ( an antioxidant to help prolong the shelf life )

Method
1. Melt the Raw Unrefined Cocoa Butter and Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, or Organic Babassu Oil, in a bain-marie.

2. Add Vitamin E to the melted liquid and pour into a Pyrex bowl or jug. Cover with cling film.

3. Place the mixture in the freezer. Allow it to slightly harden around the edges. This should take about 10-15 minutes.

4. Take your mixture out of the freezer.

5. It should be semi-solid but soft in the centre.

Stick a spoon in the centre. If it takes a while to tilt to one side then it's ready for whipping.

6. Using your hand blender, or hand mixer, whip the mixture into a light texture of fluffy white clouds.

7. Spoon it into clean jars and place a lid on it. 

Application
Slather it on your body and/or add a light coating to damp curls. Do not allow any moisture into the jars.

Note Worthy:
In warmer climates, you may need to adjust recipe to 65% cocoa butter, 35% oil so that it's easy to manipulate.

Storage:
Keep in a cool, dark place.
Your Whipped Hair & Body butter should keep for up to 2 months.
